ASCII Transcript Formatting Requirements

1. Page Splitting

  • • Pages must be separated using the form feed character (^L or \f).

2. Page Numbering Requirements

  • • The page number must be placed on the right-hand side of the page.
  • • Page numbers can be plain numeric (e.g., 6) or prefixed format (e.g., Page 6)
  • • They must appear either as the first non-empty line of the page (top position) or the last non-empty line of the page (bottom position)
  • • The positioning of the page number must remain consistent (either top or bottom) throughout the entire transcript
  • • Page numbers must be sequentially ordered

3. Exhibits Index Requirements

  • • The Exhibits Index must begin on a new page
  • • It may span multiple pages if necessary
  • • The title of the page must include the word "Exhibits"
  • • The Exhibits Table must contain three columns: Exhibit Name, Description, Page or Marked
  • • Column values must be separated by two or more spaces
  • • Exhibit names must begin with the word "Exhibit"
  • • There shall be only one space between the word "Exhibit" and the exhibit number (or letter)

4. Court Reporter Certification Page Requirements

  • • The Court Reporter's Certification must appear on the immediate next page after the end of the transcript
  • • The page title must be "REPORTER'S CERTIFICATE"
  • • A placeholder for the signature must be included as: ___________ or --------------------
  • • The three lines preceding the signature placeholder must be empty
